Workers United for Rights and Justice was founded in 2025 by Gerardo García, who has spent over 15 years working with the community and advocating for workers’ rights. The organization was created with a clear purpose: to empower workers and their families in Chicago and Illinois to know, defend, and exercise their labor rights.

From the very beginning, our work has been guided by the principles of justice, dignity, integrity, and solidarity. Through educational programs, community workshops, references with legal support, and personalized guidance, we strive to build stronger, informed, and resilient communities.

Every step we take is grounded in the experience and passion of Gerardo and our team, who understand firsthand the challenges workers face. Our story is the story of the community: people seeking safe, respectful, and confident workplaces, with access to reliable information and resources to protect their well-being and that of their families.
